Advice Group initiatively says “Creating history together” 

Advice Group together with Non-Governmental Organization “Lviv Architectural Heritage”, Western Ukrainian Brunch of European Business Association and the Department of Ukrainian Bar Association in Lviv region started multistage program on restoration and preservation of historical and cultural heritage of Rzewuski-Lanckoronski Palace. 

Rozdil castle, or Rzewuski-Lanckoronski Palace, is a unique architectural building of XVIII-XIX century, situated in Rozdil (Mykolayiv region, Lviv oblast). It is known from historical sources that the owner of the mansion was Karol Lanckoronski. The Palace was built in 1704 by Rzewuski family, but in 1874–1903 it was reconstructed at the expense of the Polish count Lanckoronski – prominent philanthropist, collector, researcher and connoisseur of antique culture. 

During the last years the state of the Palace have significantly deteriorated. This requires immediate measures on preservation of this architectural building from further ruination to be taken. 

First planned event within the program on preservation and restoration of Rzewuski-Lanckoronski Palace took place on October 11, 2014. The organizers of the event called active social community, conscious lovers of art and architecture, all those, who are interested in history of our region, to join and take part in it. Thus, in particular, it was planned to clean the surrounding area of the Palace from the garbage and its further removal, mowing the grass, etc. 

More than 30 volunteers attended the clean-up, including graduates of “Future Leaders Exchange Program”. Upon the results of the event approximately one ton of garbage and “consequences” of uncultured behavior of youth around the building was collected, front part of the facade was cleaned from wild grass, which were destroying the landscape, main premises of the Palace were completely cleaned. 

Registered participants were provided with transportation. After the event, the picnic was held with fish soup, Asian chorba and barbecue in the park of the Palace. The organizers hope to attract even more social and business community for implementation of the program in the future!
